No SWFS meeting would be complete without some entertainment. Alongside our science programme we have organised events throughout the week to help oil the wheels of collaboration and communication.
Monday night - Civic Reception and Welcome!
Venue: Edinburgh City Chambers
Time: 7pm Cost: Free (Included in 1-week registration)
The week begins with an ice-breaker event at the prestigious Main Council Chamber at the City Chambers. The Lord Provost will formally welcome you to Edinburgh at a drinks reception in this beautiful venue. Delegates can soak up the history of Scotland’s capital city and make new connections among the wildlife forensic science community.
Wednesday night - Drinks reception and public lecture
Venue: Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh (Botanics)
Time: 6 pm onwards Cost: Free (Included in 1-week and 1-day registration fees)
To round off the Symposium, we will be hosted by the Botanics for an evening reception.
Thursday night - Conference Banquet
Venue: The Ghillie Dhu
Time: 7pm til late Cost: £50 per person (see Registration pages to reserve a place)
The traditional end-of-meeting banquet has developed something of a reputation over the years as an unmissable night. Edinburgh will be no exception with a banquet to be followed traditional Scottish dancing in the form of a Ceilidh - that means we dance, not watch!
Friday morning - Edinburgh excursion
Venue: Pick-up from Conference Hall
Time: 9 am Cost: £30, concessions available
For those of us who cannot face a morning workshop, or for long-suffering partners and families looking to see the sights, there will be an Edinburgh City excursion available on Friday morning.
