Student Abstracts and Scholarships

25 November 2025- Abstract and Student Scholarship Deadline
-----------------------------------------------------

The Society for Wildlife Forensic Science (SWFS) will award scholarships to two
students currently studying wildlife forensic science or a related scientific discipline. We
welcome applications from students in morphology, genetics, chemistry, veterinary
pathology or alternative scientific disciplines which can be applied in wildlife forensic
casework.

Each Scholarship includes one student registration and $500 to help with travel and
room costs for attending the SWFS meeting. A selection committee will review the
applications and consideration will be given to past academic performance, the
application, essay, and presentation abstract.

Selected students will be required to give a 10–15 minute presentation on their abstract
topic at the SWFS meeting. Please note that applicants must apply for the
scholarship (SWFS 2026 Student Scholarship Application), submit an abstract
(Abstract Form), and register for the meeting for consideration.

Application Deadline: 25 November 2026

Scholarship recipients will be reimbursed for registration and will receive the $500
award during the meeting. Please ensure that you have registered for the meeting and
submitted an abstract for your presentation.

Applicants will not be considered if they have not submitted an abstract.
