We are delighted to announce that the 2026 SWFS Conference will be held in Charleston, South Carolina, USA from 20-26 March 2026 at The Francis Marion Hotel.

Charleston has mild weather, incredible food, and an abundance of culture, history, entertainment, and natural beauty. Travel + Leisure magazine just last year ranked Charleston as the #1 city in the US for the 12th year in a row, and it consistently ranks among the best cities in the US for visitors. We look forward to seeing you in Charleston in March 2026!

Information regarding the procedure for reserving your accommodation at the Francis Marion Hotel will be provided in an email soon. We kindly request that you await further instructions on securing your lodging until we have furnished comprehensive details concerning the booking process.

SWFS Subcommittee Volunteers

In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to the membership to gather nominations for the various subcommittees that will support the conference. Please watch for that announcement, and we encourage you to consider nominating yourself if you are interested in serving on a committee. Such sub committees include: Workshop organization, Scientific presentations, sponsorship and vendor solicitation, conference SWAG and onsite registration.

Continuing Education Workshops

We are planning our upcoming continuing education workshops and would love to hear your input. Are there any specific workshops or topics that you would find valuable and engaging? Please feel free to share your ideas by emailing Trey Knott. Our planning committee will carefully review all suggestions and will aim to include the topics that generate the most interest.

Tentative Registration Schedule

  • 01 July 2025 - Hotel reservations can be made
  • 01 August 2025 - Call for Abstracts & Student Scholarship applications
  • 27 October 2025 - Registration Opens
  • 25 November 2025 - Student Scholarship application deadline
  • 02 January 2026 - End of Early Bird Registration
  • 20 February 2026 - Hotel Reservations Deadline (rooms will be released after this date)
  • 16 March 2026 - End of Regular Registration
