SWGWILD Releases First Standards for Wildlife Forensics Practice

Today, SWGWILD announces the release of a comprehensive set of Standards and Guidelines to for the practice of wildlife forensics. The recommendations cover basic “forensic” practices to ensuring proper evidence handling, as well as detailed guidance on proper use of genetic and morphological techniques in wildlife crimes. These represent the first set of consensus standards and guidelines for Wildlife Forensics practice, and have been nearly two years in the making.
